Toronto police confirmed on Friday that they have arrested several suspects in an armed robbery at a west-end high school, possibly stopping a violent crime spree that began nearly two months ago.
Four young men reportedly arrived at Thistletown Collegiate Institute in a stolen vehicle Thursday afternoon, entering the school to steal cellular phones from two female students before attempting to rob another male student.
A shot was fired when the male student fled, but the bullet missed and struck a parked vehicle, prompting a three-hour lockdown of the school, located near Islington Avenue and Elmhurst Drive.
In the initial robberies, the suspects were “quite passive,” but soon progressed to pistol-whipping people
