Abdisamad3,

Jubbaland would be great for a lot of reasons. A place in the South all Darood can feel secure and and feel like its theirs, and all Somalis in that region for that matter, a economic hub, etc. But When I say I'm skeptical it's not out of spite or jealousy but it's just that I don't believe in this process. Puntland was made in Garowe, 100% by Somalis in that region. Somaliland sida kale. Yes this Gov was elected in Xamar under AMISOM guard but they are recognized internationally at least. With this, You have AS kilometers outside Kismayo, 1/3 of the whole state is not in the hands of the people making the conference. If AMISOM leaves tomorrow AS comes right back. So many reasons why this doesn't seem macquul right now.

J/Land needs to be up and running to counter Govt interference.
The new state will be in a far stronger position to deal with the Govt.

Security and intelligence apparatus will be established to liberate the AS controlled areas.
The Govt are working with AS in J/Land to derail progress.

When the Govt was formed in Xamar Shaabaab still had large areas in Xamar under their control so whats ur point? The govt u talk about does not even control majority of Somalia.

A lot of the foot soldiers are local anyway...they can be demobilized with offers of training and financial assistance.

All of the business and Govt jobs are monopolised in Xamar by one clan.
I don`t see the merits of bringing them into J/Land when we are practically excluded in Xamar. :D :som:
