Somalis only number 16-19 million worldwide? can't be right

The true number has to be much higher. I say at least 30 million if not more. somalis tend to have large families with at least 3 kids if not much more. once you factor in the dudes with multiple wives the number should be even higher! I honestly don't think 40 mil-50mil is outside the realm of possibility worldwide. I assume there hasn't been a reliable census has been taken in decades, makes the 16-19 mil figure even more questionable.

I've always wondered if this was accurate and I doubt that it is. Where I live, I know many Somalis who didn't take part in the consensus, so we aren't included in our country's statistics. I'm sure that there are many Somalis who weren't included in the gathering of their country's statistics. Perhaps our numbers are even greater.
