Today I remembered how much I hated Africa.
Do any of the old timers remember my writings while in East Africa? I also remembered more than East Africa, how much I hated the Somali people...each and every single one of them I came across seemed uncivilized, uncouth, ill-mannered, illiterate, and just primitive.
For a while I have had a burning desire to go see Somalia and go to places like Mogadishu and Kismaayo but it all drastically decreased today after the short trip down memory lane.
Seeing the Somali primate in his habitat might just be my definition of hell and torture.

The only thing I dont like about Somalia is that a lot of the people are lacking in manners. We were driving in Hargeysa last year when this guy driving at 80mph almost ran my uncle off the side of the road. My uncle told him saaxib jidka baabuurka ku wad, instead of saying sorry he started shouting crap like diinta aabahaa wass ee adigaa laamiga taagnaa with his mouth full of qaad.

My sister and I got stones thrown at us for not wearing Jilbaab while in Galkaoi by little kids, some elder men threw an empty bottle at us and some obnoxious comments said to us among other things. I'm sure you're experience, as a male, could not have been worse than that. Still though, I am not going to say everyone was rude. The`Republic wrote:Do any of the old timers remember my writings while in East Africa? Long skirts, loose fitting tops with hijab or maxi dresses+ cardigan & hijaab. Or sometimes abaayas and hijaabs (but black absorbs heat more) so not too often. It does not matter though, if you are not wearing jilbaab you are perceived as not being covered since every female wears it there.Tuushi wrote: Why,how were u guys dressed? Nerve wrecking? Well not everyone throws things and says mean comments. Most people just stare like you have a second head attached to you (which I can understand since we stuck out like a sore thumb). Hence why I gave in after the 3rd day and got my own jilbaab and I was not bothered at all.

Autophobia is a disease.More commonly known as Self-loathing it's an extreme dislike or hatred of oneself, or being angry at or even prejudiced against oneself. The term is also used to designate a dislike or hatred of a group, family, social class, mental illness, or stereotype to which one belongs and/or has. For instance, "ethnic self-hatred" is the extreme dislike of one's ethnic group or cultural classification.
