Xamar lashes back at SNM remarks against PM

After the PM visited and prayed at the grave of the late President Maxamad Siyaad Barre (aun), some members in the north lashed out at the PM for this move during a SNM commemoration. Some of the remarks were that the late president was like "hitler", and should never be visited by a high government official. After some days of no replies to the ex-SNM the District-governor of Hiliwaa district of Mogadishu, Cumar Cabdulle (Cumar Jacfaan), decided he had enough. He held a press conference requesting a public apology from that specific member.

Blackrain, the reason no government official responded is because the guy who made the comments in the first place was just an ex-snm member, he is not a government offcial. There is no reason for the government of Somalia to ever respond to every citizen.

Blackvelvet, horta welcome back, no one claimed that MSB was a saint and frankly no one has treated him as such. Do you see proposals by the government to name schools, roads, buildings, statues after him? The Prime Minister in his first ever official visit to Garbahary, Gedo and his ministers visited the grave of MSB aun and made dua for him. After that he got to buisness. There was no press conference, no public plea to the wider Somali people, nothing. The only reason that the ex-snm guy got mad is because he saw it as "legitimizing" MSB aun, and he rather wishes that he is forever vilified and condemned. The government of Somaliland didn't even comment on this.

Also, grave issue has been so muddled in the muslim conscious that we don't think we are allowed to visit graves. Yes it is very much allowed to visit graves, to read quran, make dua, or simply make your salams.

Qof waa loo duceyn kara as you should. However when a high ranking official does this, it is a very significant statement and one that cannot be taken lightly. David Cameron might praise Thatcher as a fellow conservative lakin push come to shove she is not getting a state funeral - this is a country that understands how to keep the peace. The PM should have prayed in his own house, even if his intentions were pure it misconstrues the fact and causes further division, sort of like you saying "Xamar lashes back" when it was only one district commissioner speaking out of turn.
