Hey guys,

Is there any Somali language literature? Short stories, novels of any sort that are written in Somali? If you guys know of any can you name them, I would actually like to explore and read some Somali literature.

Yeah, there's some Somali language literature I've purchased from RedSea-Online.com. There are some nice longer-form articles in proper Somali on Wardheernews site, but since their recent redesign I've been unable to navigate it and find older pieces.

Shirib you can order some books from here. My brother uses this site to order some books. I read a few in the hopes of growing my Somali vocab, I imagine it will help.

There are also short stories ( usually 1 to two pages long) written by Axmed Ismaciil Max'ud better known as Axmed-Deeq. He is a young Somali writer based in Cairo. I really admire his writings, imagination, sense of humor and of course the style he uses in writing. I'm sure you'll find it hilarious. The Somali vocab he uses is also superb. You'll learn a lot from this guy. Let me provide you a short story he wrote posted at WardheerNews about awhile ago tittled "Aniga iyo naftayda ha naloo garnaqo". Check it the following link:
