Somaliland Enters a Contract with a Norwegian Oil Company
DNO International ASA (DNO International), the Norwegian oil and gas company, announced today that it has entered into a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) covering Block SL18 onshore Somaliland.
The President of Somaliland, Ahmed M. Mohamoud Silanyo, and DNO International’s Executive Chairman, Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani, attended the signing ceremony in Washington, D.C. yesterday.
“This 12,000 square kilometer block adds substantial exploration acreage to DNO International’s portfolio and in an area that is both prospective and undrilled,” said Mossavar-Rahmani. He added that Somaliland falls within the Company’s geographic and geological comfort zones. “We have been active across the Gulf of Aden in Yemen since the late 1990s.”
The Company has initiated studies on Block SL18 ahead of an extensive seismic program planned for 2014.
DNO International ASA is an Oslo-listed, Middle East and North Africa focused, oil and gas company holding stakes in 18 licenses in various stages of exploration, development and production both onshore and offshore in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the Republic of Yemen, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, the Tunisian Republic and Somaliland.

One would hope that a revenue sharing scheme will be worked out with the federal government in Mogadisho before the flow of oil starts.

Lol SL18 is onshore not offshore. It is basically southern Sanaag and Xudun district and Bohol area (northern Sool) it is settled mainly by Habaryoonis and Dhulos.
I think the company is after the Holhol wells south east of Xudun town (A area settled by Dhulos).

Siciid,
There is no Dhulos in that area, its mostly the territory of Sacad Yoonis and Biciide., Dhulbahnate land begins from Xudun itself and east, but most of southern Sanaag , Eastern Xudun are all non-Qurjiile land.

Dhulos live in east of Xudun and some villages east of Dararweyne like Boodacade, Fiqi Fuliye. While the Sacad Yoonis inhabits the villages south of Dararweyne like
Dogoble, Siiga dheer, Boocolaha etc all the way to Bohol and western Xudun areas is mostly settled by the Sacad Yoonis. We are still not exactly sure where in
that block the company wants to drill, for all we know it could be Holhol south east of Xudun or Bohol area. Time will tell.

As long as there is no digging in their lands, it should be fine.
We don't want near pagan clans sabotaging equipment.
Dararweyne is HY no?

It is but the drilling is most likely to take place in northern Sool, that is where it is said a possible oil is in.
