Anywho, OP, if your not going to school for Engineering or some Sciences or some Business subjects (not all Science and not all Business), don't bother at all. Waste of money and time.

I took Accounting. Salary varies.

Bachelor of Science, majoring in Microbiology. Career wise probably won't get me anywhere unless I add an honours year or some other post grad program.

All I can say is a science degree is very generic. Make sure you know exactly what sort of career you want before hand. Lord knows I still haven't figured it out. Try studying what you love and good at. I was always interested in the Sciences but I would have enjoyed Law or an Arts degree.

Also depends where you see yourself in the future. If I could change Major within the Sciences I would change it to Agricultural Sciences. Simply, because I do see myself living in Somalia with my parents at some stage of my life. All the best with whatever you choose.

OP study something that interests you, something you wish you could do all your life and not hate it. For example accounting, even though the pay as a senior accountant is good the job itself is so boring and it's just routine work all year round. Remember not to choose a course just because of the salary because sooner or later you will regret it.

I studied Business Management & Accounting.

I somewhat agree with your last point about choosing a career that you enjoy rather than looking at what the pay rate is. However, i would like to add one point: study an area which would most likely enable you to find a job, especially in this current economic climate where certain degrees are no longer indemand.
