Is Somalinimo dead

Post by gobdoon »

What do you think or may be we never had strong united Somalia , are We kidding ourselves those of us who intertain the idea , besides since the collapse of the government 1991 and still some people are using the term , even though deepdown their motive is tribal , may be we should just let the country split to pieces and each local group run their affairs but then Qabiil is poison and never stops untill it's between 2 brothers , it's like this Habargidir would fight among themselves , Abgal among itself , Majeerten among itself , Dhulbahante among itself , Isaaq among itself and so on , that is why if We are to survive this century We should stop squabling over Qabiil and make strong laws and conistatutions where all the citizens are equal and respect the rule of law.

There never was the concept of nationhood in our people sxb and their never will be really
Somllis see nations as people that's why we say Ruushka,Ingriiska,Talyaaniga these are names which reffer to a collective of people.Where as in the English language for example the name France reffers to the nation and the name French refers to the people.We.however don't difrentiate 'cos we have no concept of Nation

No such thing, it only existed briefly during the SYL years. Can't wait until we go back to pre-colonial relations. :stylin:

Time to accept and live with our flaws: we are a primitive tribal society trying to live in the modern world.

Our forefathers had a very unique lifestyle, different from the rest of the world. They used to chase camels, and watery clouds all year long. That lifestyle worked for them generation after generation. Then came the white man. Mr. White tried to tame them and replace their long standing traditions with modern government, written laws and regulations. Before the white man tried any system on our forefathers and mothers, he divided them into five enclaves under five different countries: (Kenya/NFD,Ethiopia/Ogaden/Western Somalia, France/Djibouti, UK/British Somaliland and Italy/Italian Somaliland).

Here are what have been tried on Mr. Farah since independence (1960):
1- Democracy
2- Communism
3- Islamic Sharia

We did not accept any of that and we are still trying to run our business like our ancestors. Can Somalis be tamed? I dnt think so. Can we go back to the jungle law? I dnt think so either. The problem is not the past twenty years. It is us and our nomadic genes, and the rest of the world trying tell us how run our internal business.

Again, we must accept the reality that we are a tribal society trying to survive in modern world. In my opinion, A Farah belongs to a reservation area or an open land for camel chasing. Maybe tribalism is killing us because we are not applying it the right way.

Yup, Somalinimo was one of the many casualties of the civil war.

if Somalinmo means sharing a country with gobdoon that that is sure dead

First we have to know and examine what is Somalinimo
is it Somaliweyn or just some parts of Somaliweyn
is it a language, or are only certain Somalis part of the Somalinimo cult
its a close association for those who speak Somali
Does Somalinimo include midgaan and bantu
Does Somalinimo include Djibouti
Is it a Political thing its a cultural linguistic thing
Is it something only walanweyn use against others
Is it a language
Is it a history

what is Somalinimo we should ask our selves

I have the SL flag in my car the other day i picked up some walanweyn we played football he saw the flag and said ma kuwi Somalinimada ka baxay baad tahay
i didnt know what he meant maxaan ka baxay sideen uga bixi kara Somalinimadu maxay ahayd Somalinimadu ma in cunta cambuulo la cuno ba Somalinimadu markaaas na laa niikiyo wixi waxa diidana Somalinimadi wuu ka baxay, yaa iska leh Somalinimada who can tell some one inu ka baxay Somalinimada

If we have no concept of nation then we wouldn't have words like dal, dhul, waddan, qaran, arlada, bilaad etc in the Somali language.
