Stops concert twice for Adhaan

Teen icon Justin Bieber thrilled his fans in Turkey at his recent concert - by not singing. The pop star stopped his Istanbul show twice to honour the Muslim call to prayer, also known as the ezan or athaan.

Legions of adoring 'Belieber' fans showered him with praise on Twitter, but Bieber won over even some of his cynics with the moment of respect.

Thug, it's not that I'm impressed by the kid, though I can't truly say he had no part in the decision. I just think that it illustrates a certain evolution in the western psyche towards Islam, a show of respect. It is that show of respect which I am commending, and nothing else. Good PR or no, they are learning.

Because in Turkey it is a muslim country, and the Adhan is blared out through intercomes that can be heard all over the city. Just Istanbul has over 2000 masjids, and they all do the adhan. So regardless if his audience isn't praying, the adhan can still be heard, and it is better no matter for whatever reason that their should nothing competing with the adhan.
