According to that map Somalia is more diverse than Ethiopia..Adali wrote:more than 10% of the population is not ethnically Somali, that is a diverse country, I think most countries in the west are less than that.
It's also more ethnically diverse than the United StatesWestLdnShawty wrote:According to that map Somalia is more diverse than Ethiopia..Adali wrote:more than 10% of the population is not ethnically Somali, that is a diverse country, I think most countries in the west are less than that.![]()
Was thinking the same thing..Tuushi wrote:I think they counted the number of tribes/qabiils in each country.Considering they used Hutu-Tutsi as an example.
Conceptions of ethnicity can change over time; the authors note that this happened in Somalia, where the same people started self-identifying differently after war broke out. And so can the actual national make-ups themselves, due to immigration, conflict, demographic trends and other factors.
Yeah.I have noticed that.A very misleading ''study''WestLdnShawty wrote:Was thinking the same thing..Tuushi wrote:I think they counted the number of tribes/qabiils in each country.Considering they used Hutu-Tutsi as an example.
Perhaps they think qabiil are tribes (ethnic groups)

Dude Ethiopia has 80 different ethnic groups.Adali wrote:If we concider people from the Horn as the same ethnic group so, Amhars, Oromos, Somalis(ethnic Somalis not nationals) are of the same ethnicity, Horn-ethnicity, then Ethiopia is definitely more ethnically homogeneous than Somalia, out of the almost 90 million ethiopians there are very few who are not from the Horn-ethnicity. in the case of Somalia, we are only 10million, so even 1 million Somali Bantu are 10% of the populations, this makes us ethnically diverse.
Adali wrote:Horn-ethnicity
I think he is talking about the Cushite sub-group category that lumps most of the ethnic groups in the Horn together. Adali, we and most Horn Africans can be considered in the same racial sub-group according to some but ethnicity is different to race.Shirib wrote:Dude Ethiopia has 80 different ethnic groups.Adali wrote:If we concider people from the Horn as the same ethnic group so, Amhars, Oromos, Somalis(ethnic Somalis not nationals) are of the same ethnicity, Horn-ethnicity, then Ethiopia is definitely more ethnically homogeneous than Somalia, out of the almost 90 million ethiopians there are very few who are not from the Horn-ethnicity. in the case of Somalia, we are only 10million, so even 1 million Somali Bantu are 10% of the populations, this makes us ethnically diverse.
And how on earth do u go around considering people who have different language and culture the same ethnic group?
Yeh dude, you think your the only one who knows what ethnicity is ? God I can't stand slow people like you, orad cawska daaq neefyahow.Shirib wrote:Dude Ethiopia has 80 different ethnic groups.Adali wrote:If we concider people from the Horn as the same ethnic group so, Amhars, Oromos, Somalis(ethnic Somalis not nationals) are of the same ethnicity, Horn-ethnicity, then Ethiopia is definitely more ethnically homogeneous than Somalia, out of the almost 90 million ethiopians there are very few who are not from the Horn-ethnicity. in the case of Somalia, we are only 10million, so even 1 million Somali Bantu are 10% of the populations, this makes us ethnically diverse.
