Complete BS, there's hardly any racial diversity. Even the races that may not be completely ethnically Somalia have assimilated to being completely Somalia.

more than 10% of the population is not ethnically Somali, that is a diverse country, I think most countries in the west are less than that.

The Somali bantu ethnic group is going to be massive in the near future, they have about 15 children by the time they're 30 and don't take part in clan warfare, helping them preserve their numbers. Good on them :stylin:

I think they counted the number of tribes/qabiils in each country.Considering they used Hutu-Tutsi as an example.

Was thinking the same thing..
Perhaps they think qabiil are tribes (ethnic groups)

Conceptions of ethnicity can change over time; the authors note that this happened in Somalia, where the same people started self-identifying differently after war broke out. And so can the actual national make-ups themselves, due to immigration, conflict, demographic trends and other factors.

Yeah.I have noticed that.A very misleading ''study''

Just surveying Nigeria will give them over hundred tribes.

If we concider people from the Horn as the same ethnic group so, Amhars, Oromos, Somalis(ethnic Somalis not nationals) are of the same ethnicity, Horn-ethnicity, then Ethiopia is definitely more ethnically homogeneous than Somalia, out of the almost 90 million ethiopians there are very few who are not from the Horn-ethnicity. in the case of Somalia, we are only 10million, so even 1 million Somali Bantu are 10% of the populations, this makes us ethnically diverse.

Dude Ethiopia has 80 different ethnic groups.

And how on earth do u go around considering people who have different language and culture the same ethnic group?

I think he is talking about the Cushite sub-group category that lumps most of the ethnic groups in the Horn together. Adali, we and most Horn Africans can be considered in the same racial sub-group according to some but ethnicity is different to race.

Yeh dude, you think your the only one who knows what ethnicity is ? God I can't stand slow people like you, orad cawska daaq neefyahow.

the assumption that I made is that the professor used term ethnicity in a more broader sense, he simply shy away from using the term race.

why are you laughing at my terminology Yaa allah, it is as if I am talking to a bunch of primary school kids here.

Geo, yeh, the man who published this has most probably expanded the ethnic boundary to include Horners.
