Ethiopia want it to complain about the future threat of Somali National Army to Britain and in defense of the SNA, Present was a 21 years old female somali canadian military commander, who lead a battalion of 90 men.
Iman has just come from work and is still dressed in her military fatigues, a black hijab discreetly tucked beneath the lieutenant’s cap. She turns heads on Mogadishu’s streets: it is rare, if not unheard of, to have a female commander, let alone one who is only 21.
When she joined the military two years ago, women were given two pairs of pants to sew together to make a skirt. Knowing it would be hard to fight in a skirt, Iman told them one pair of pants would do. Now she commands 90 men in her battalion.
“Being raised in Canada, I was taught you’re no different from any guy, you’re equal, you’re the same,” she says. “When I went into the military they said, ‘You can’t do that, it’s not your job.’ I wanted to break some of the stereotypes here.”
Afterwards, Ethiopia apologize for the misunderstanding and promised to work with the government.

Do you guys know that if she is captured, Alshabaab would take her as a slave and she would be given to any of their guys without meher. They believe the milatary are gaalo and dumarkood iyo xoolahoodaba waa xalaal. I feel sorry for this Leutenant Imaan Commander of men.

Courageous young lady , what al shabaab might or might not do is irrelevant , what counts is what EVERY somali is doing AGAINST them . If you live in fear , stay there , do not come up here trying to scare anyone else

Are you sure that girl is in the Somali army? Ilama aha dhaqan fii'an inaan dumarka askar ka dhigno.By the way the girl pictured with her is Elman's daughter.
