Anyone a blood donor here ? If so what are you reasons for donating? How often do you do it?

If not, what deters you from becoming a donor? Each time you donate you have the potential of saving three lives.

Tried years ago and got rejected.Apparently,i have the malaria virus in me.

@Rightwing, its not about politics. More about community. I'm not sure where you are going with this. Are you suggesting it is only soldiers who need blood transfusions ?

@ Tuushi, aww that sucks. I got rejected awhile ago too because I was a little bit underweight but I am in a healthier weight range now, was thinking of it giving it a try.

Africans in the west donate the least amount of blood and the less likely to donate of organs.

No, Alhamdulilah no issues. i used to be denied b/c of my weight but I dont have that problem anymore....unfortunately

I donated blood once because I wanted to see how it felt losing a litre of blood. I would be lying if I said it was because I cared about the people who needed. I did it out of plain curiosity.

Red Cross also gave me an appreciation card with my name written on it stating that I am indeed a blood donor ...I take it out when conversing with cadaan people at functions because those mundane topics interest them lol

Farax n Xalimo have just enough blood to get by, they cant afford to donate blood
