Eritreans were fighting survival it was either that or being Amhaarized by the Ethiopians it was a matter of life and death. are you for real more soviets were killed serving as military super visors for the dergs in , the soviet union lost more military hard ware in those battles then they did in 1977.
1977 is nothing compared to eritreas war of independence and the later 1998-2000 conflict in which a total of 20000 eritreans and 110000 ethiopians( including 12000 somalis) were killed compare that to 1977 were the death toll never surpassed 15000, are you kidding me.

i am not the slightest bit kidding sxb, just do the math Ethiopian army consisted of all ethnicities and Somalis were no exception off course they were forced to head to the front lines but they still had to bite the dust ,an eritrean friend of mine who took part of that conflict told me that they were suprised by the number of somalis fighting along side ethiopians, like cmon man we are on the same side

Ok, there were some Somalis fighting alongside the Ethiopians but surely the number of dead Somalis weren't that many, and I don't understand how someone can be forced to fight. If that was me I'd kill the Ethiopians and If I get killed that would earn me a free pass to Jannah because that would make me a martyr
