He's a Master's degree holder and made his way to the top. What does being a former barber have anything to do with this?

Looks like he's translating
Re: Nepotism N somali gov: Columbus Barber now aide to the P
Of course there are family hook ups. Did you know Defense Minister Fiqi's brother's son works with him in the Defense Department? Did you know Foreign Minister Fowsia has some girl from Doha, Qatar from her own tol as her right-hand-woman?
This practice goes on everywhere in the world. Even the USA. Obama appoints people he knows or friends or party fundraisers to positions. And Somalis hire people they are close with for positions. There is nothing wrong with this. It's common practice.

I didn't say Obama has family in the gov't but friends or party fundraisers/loyalists. This is Somali politics. It's a bit different.
This guy was a political appointment. You pick who you want and who you know. He is in the inner circle of the President. These positions are not your average bureaucrat positions. You just can't have some random dude in your circle. You have to be close with them or be familiar with them. You will not find a job position on monster.com to be part of a politicians inner circle. It just doesn't work like that. You are unfamiliar with politics in general.

Can we agree that this is a source of nepotism, it has all to do with it. Btw Obama appointed friends that have proven record that have been it for a min sxbTitanium wrote:I didn't say Obama has family in the gov't but friends or party fundraisers/loyalists. I was offered three jobs with this government but I turned them down. I don't see a reason to join a government that doesn't share my values nor subscribes to my leadership style.
I am waiting until one of my circle becomes President. I will then support his regime 200% even put on a tuute and fight for it.

No. Obama's appointments include appointing the husband of the heiress of a whiskey company to the US ambassador to the UK. Donate millions of dollars to the Democratic Party and you will get a nice position like this lucky man.
If the guy was in fact some illiterate nomad from some tuulo and was hired because he was the direct cousin of the President, you have an argument. If this was a office job in the ministry and it was stacked with the President's extended family, you have an argument. Unless you show me an ad on monster.com of a politician from anywhere in the world asking for people to send their resumes to be in his/her inner circle, you have no case. This is a political appointment. He didn't bypass 50 other candidates like it was some office job.
President Siilanyo's inner circle is filled with his cousins and nephews from Garadag.

I'm not defending Silaanyo bro.. Why I assume everyone supports somaliland just cause they could from there.. Secondly, let me inform u that this position was advertised in hiiraan.com just the past 2 years and I assure u they had a stack of resumes... Bro just accept it man bc your arguments are self-defeatingTitanium wrote:No. Obama's appointments include appointing the husband of the heiress of a whiskey company to the US ambassador to the UK. Show me the ad for the inner circle political appointment position
All that Hiiraan.com posts are gov't office jobs that are not political. Being behind the computer, writing up reports, conducting research, analyzing data, etc etc.
How about the ministers and the PM? The President knew all of them before he became President. They are his personal friends. Was the President supposed to get resumes from likely candidates
Your beef is with political appointments, something that all politicians do. Go protest in every capital city saxiib.

MenaceToSociety, if you're implying there's no nepotism in the US or Canada, then you're mistaken. Nepotism is practiced at federal, state, county, city, town, etc levels, where a son/daughter inherits or is appointed by a relative. An easy and ample example; Robert F. Kennedy was selected to be U. S. Attorney General by his brother, U. S. President John F. Kennedy in 1960–1961, a position Robert took and held before he was later elected senator.
