What's needed is controlled, meticulously planned federalism, not chaotic balkanization or authoritarian centralism.

In other words, a balance is required.

Still, some of Mr Mohamud’s opponents in rival clans are still backing the Shabab, the armed Islamists linked to al-Qaeda that previously dominated the country, to destabilise him.

The current Doqon had a golden opportunity to unite the entire country, but he squandered it thanks to HAG greed. Somalia is no more, we no longer have to be associated with the shame that is Moryandishu :eat:
