Do you have a list of principles which you live by?
I'd like to think that we all have the basics down i.e. try not to do stuff that will land you in hell.
But do you have a list that you know off by heart? Do you have personal commandments?
I was speaking to someone and they listed off their principles wasn't the first time someone's done that either. I'm not unprincipled but I don't have a list which I am conscious of - if it feels wrong/if you know it's wrong, don't do it - that pretty much sums it up for me. Where do you guys fall?

I have few:- keeping my word regardless of the situation, respecting others view points, believing that life is two way street and trying to live with in the border of Islam and few more basics.

How do you choose what to add to the list? Or more importantly, what to exclude? Does that mean they're not as important?
Re: Do you have a list of principles which you live by?
It depends on a lot of factors like your parents, upbringing, environment etc. For example most Somalis won't get close to pork but khat they might due to culture acceptance lol....BlackVelvet wrote:How do you choose what to add to the list? These are all good things to have as principles.
Ma ii fahmin. I don't eat pork or drink alchol etc it's the naming them in words - do this, don't do that etc which I find strangeAlchemist wrote:It depends on a lot of factors like your parents, upbringing, environment etc. For example most Somalis won't get close to pork but khat they might due to culture acceptance lol....BlackVelvet wrote:How do you choose what to add to the list? I have few. They remained the same for the most part.
1.Never take debt easily.
2.Family first, with wiggle room.
3.All decisions are best possible ones at that moment,no going back and regrets.
4.A smile is better than a middle finger (never failed me)
etc.
