Question regarding Riba

Post by Adali »

Say you had a really cool friend who wasn't Muslim, he understood getting a mortgage was Haram so offered to get it for you, you would only have to pay him the exact amount he borrowed from the bank, and he pays the interest the bank adds.

is this Halaal ?

No, because regardless of who pays it, the property is still being bought with riba! Your friends money is taken unfairly by the bank. Based on my own conclusions so Allah knows best!

If a non-Muslim asks me where a liquor store is and I know where the nearest one is, I will deny knowing.

Its like saying: my best friend knows that zina is forbidden so he tells me to watch how he and his girlfriend are doing. Or he is giving me lots of porn.

My best friend knows idol worship is forbidden so he buys budha statue from E-bay, worships that for you.

My bestfriend knows alcohol drinking is haram so he buys one and drinks in front of you, he tells you how it taste and what it does to him.

This is correct. You should not tell a person where they can buy liquor be it a muslim or a non muslim. this is common sense come on!

It is still riba! Coz your friend will still be paying for the interest right? So its riba. Better not accept it,

Same thing goes for the drinking as well. Whether you are drinking, or helping someone find the nearest store where he can buy, or waiting at a bar where drinks are served and you happen to be the one serving the drinks, or you live with a house mate who drinks, or you pay for someone's drink, the sin is still the same. It makes you no different than the person who is drinking it.
