Ajuraan somali empire?

Post by 21CenturyAmir »

what proof is there of the mighty Ajuraan empire. folklore tells that they stop the expanding oromo and that defended valiantly the Banadiir coast sure, but now there is all this hype about this recluse empire. they fought along side the ottoman, and liberated the Swahili from the yoke of the Portuguese. but where is the proof of this splendid empire, we don't even know were their capital was, lots of things are attributed to this empire the forts like Gondershe, light house and even the coast wells. but there is not a single shred of evidence, we have no foreign eye witness accounts. foreign have been traveling on our sea lane since time immemorial yet not one wrote about this vast empire that was able to defend against a western super power and we have no literary proof like the Futh al-Habasha. could the ajuraan have been like the ogaden, the held great territory and were able to force some weak clans to vessalage and get them to pay tribute and hommage only to be displace by the next big tribal confederacy the Hiraab as has happen in somali history again an again and again so what do you all think.worldly, sophisticated empire of the Ajuuran a mirage. neither worldly, no sophisticated nor an empire.

Adal were a great Empire her own.. and they existed in the same time actully which only ads more glory and power to somali history, to huge empires in one time..

By the way Ajuuraan, were the most powerful empire on African soil after the ancient Egyptians empire.. which gave birth to Ajuuraan..

real scholar work, not something you cut and paste from Wiki. the Ming empire example is of course the giraafe gift to the Ming emperor which might have come from Xamar, Malindi, Mombasa any number of city state on the east African coast.

somali historian you mean I.M. Luis and that american anthropologist that wrote about the Galeedi, there is not standard history of the empire it rise, his imans, his records and accomplishment only a few gabays about how the northern somalis harried them to exile in NFD. no serious work about somali history his been attempt by a somali in our entire history. and by that that i mean a comprehensive history i don't mean the history of Majeerteen, the Issa, the Habar Yonis, or the Habar Gidir or any faction that is strong man of the De Jure.

it's a Well recorded Empire, and accepted to the Encyclopedia of the World.. many empires and Allies recorded about them as well.. so please read history correct, the only thing that is mythology, is WHO were the real Rulers of Axum empire.. the rest are for real..

Besides that were do you think, the information of the portuguese general, advice from his sergents to just go else were and not fight comes from.. and the name of the general.. its because they recorded.. it was huge defeat, great history made that day.. heard everywhere even the ottoman recorded this defeat to the portuguese..

Interestingly enough, the word giraffe apparently has its roots from the Somali "geri". The Chinese borrowed the term from the Somalis and associated it with their ancient Qilin, then was adopted by the Arabs as Zarafa, then the Italians as giraffa, and ultimately by the English as giraffe.
