why ecuador?
wasnt china the safest bet? or even Moscow?
how can you trust ecuador they are a small country,
even though the new breed of politicians are independent from the US.
There is a large population of pro-US elite that the CIA could use to make a coup.
Brazil would have been better it has resisted US bullying and has no extradition treaty.

Moscow and China want to keep semi-good relations with the US as they are members of the security council, Ecudour offered him asylum so it was his best bet.
