Just looking back I was in Galkayo city on Election day, and every single soul in the city was either listening into on radio or watching the elections live. The moment President Hassan Sheikh Mohamed was announced President elect I felt a sense of unity not because of Hassan but the warm heart felt welcome by reer Mudug. I thought to myself that on that day we made a huge step forward in the right direction. I had a flight to catch 8 in the morning the following day but was up until 3am celebrating with Somaliweyn in the spirit of unity.
The Somali President that was welcomed across every City and tuulo in Somalia turned himself into a Hawiye President and is now trapped in Xamar guarded by adoon and wonders what happen to his popularity.
5 years of progress iyo unity lost but hope is still alive.
