adis talks have failed yet 1middleground compromise has left

Post by sahal80 »

Recognition for his jubbaland administration was a key negotiating demand for the shaykh

The govt was insisting that they will not make regression trying to treat raas kambooni as unwilling partner in the talks

With each group is not dismounting from its position, the talks have ultimately failed after two rounds in two days.

Raas kambooni was suggesting that they will give full allegiance to the govt if they grant them recognition and will stop their disloyalty

The govt was telling them to forget about the recognition and contribute in its xamar conference with a promise of getting appointed officially soon the conference ends.

As no side is given up, the two delegations have walked away from the building.

The thiopians who were not in the meeting have asked them to do one more third round. Now, there is a middle ground compromise wich is to treat the shaykhs administration as the only representative in jubbaland without giving him an official recognition, just like his ex self-appointed interm administration before his conference wich was seen as an interim maamul by the govt.

If this was reached, things will dramatically change between jubbaland and the govt as they all agree on the rest of points.
