Honestly, it's because since the day we are able to understand gender roles (which is very early in our childhood) for the rest of our lives, we are taught that our "happy ending" is marriage and that we are incomplete without being married with children. Also that we only find "the one" after we've found ourselves and met our potential - this leads to the related issue of females being viewed as "less than", "not pretty enough", and all that other crap if she hasn't settled down as if she just needs to improve herself to get married. As if that is the ultimate goal of all females. This is perpetuated through children's stories, fairytales, toys (that help children play at being adults and for girls that means playing at being a mother, wife, girlfriend, etc), television shows, movies, etc.

For example, if a parent is worried about missing events in their children's lives, they would most likely be most worried about missing their daughter's wedding rather than her graduation or their son's wedding. There is a troublesome association placed between a woman's happiness and worth to her relationship status whereas such an association does not exist to the same degree for males.

So I would say that if women seem obsessed with weddings, that is the result of conditioning rather than being due to her own independent desires, most of the time.

As for me, if I find a suitable partner - cool. If not - cool. God is sufficient for me, if I lack family, friends, or a husband, I have Allah. You won't see me obsessing over weddings and finding "the one".

It's more than just social pressure. To say that a woman is succumbing to social pressure would indicate that is the sole cause of her place of importance on marriage or a wedding. But it's mainly conditioning, in my opinion, that is the reason for this. This means that a girl is taught in many ways, repeatedly and consistently, that this is what every female is supposed to do, should do, and would complete her life to do. So it becomes her own desire and, most of the time, people are blissfully unaware of the fact that they've been conditioned. Even if they are aware, they may not be able to tell how much of their desire is due to conditioning and how much isn't, or they might not be able to stop wanting these things even if they know that they've been conditioned. It's similar to racism and internalized racism in this way.
