Islamic philosophy - is it long gone?

Islamic philosophy is a branch of Islamic studies on the Quran. It is the continuous search for Hikma (Arabic: حكمة), meaning wisdom, in the light of the Islamic view of life, the universe, ethics, society, and so on. Islamic philosophy, understood as a "project of independent philosophical inquiry" began in Baghdad in the middle of the 8th century
"project of independent philosophical inquiry" seems to now have a blasphemous sentiment, even I feel uncomfortable discussing concepts that support Islam. The only reason Islam is grilled and atheism is praised is due to the high level of academics hyping up the atheism whereas Islamic figures step away from philosophy since it's considered haram to even discuss it and rather spend time doing takfeer and copying things word for word from anyone who will take them at the local mosque.
Then people wonder why you have some Muslims denouncing their religion to feel more intellectually superior and separate themselves from the "dogma" taught to them by the local mosque.

Islamic philosophy still exists. And many scholars state that its disliked to get into without cause but a communal obligation if the need arises. Alhamdulilah we have extensive books on Islamic philosophy written by luminaries such as imam al ghazalis 'incoherence of the philosophers ' imam juwaynis jawharat tawheed etc...there's a big scholar by the name of saeed foudah who is a major scholar in Islamic creed and has deep knowledge of Philosophy his lectures are in Arabic though.it's sad that wahabism has drowned out the real aqeedah of Islam. Anything they can't understand they simply label harangue. Its our books on ilm ul kalaam( philosophy) that caused the Europeans to come out from the dark ages and enter into Renaissance.

Imam ghazali is the man for that. You can find many of his books online probably on scribd.com. also fakhru din ar razi wrote extensive books on philosophy. Lakiin imam ghazali will sift through all the false beliefs, debunk them, and take you to the pure creed of Muhammad alayhi salatu wa salam
