Did I miss Much by coming to America Late

Post by Sheikh Mustafa »

I heard life was so enjoyable in the 80s in America. Jobs everywhere, things weren't expensive, People were happy, no one knew about Muslims. I mean people just had fun.

Did I miss much? I came here in 2000.

You missed easy sponsorship. Plenty of jobs. And most importanly, the biggy smalls and tupac beef. That was like the cold war for all skeleton-looking gangster wannabes farahs. Also. the 90s was the golden age of faraxnimo before it was destroyed by xalimoism and ilbaxism.

80s? Even if you were in America back then, wouldn't you be too young to care about the job market or the economy?

People weren't too much into drugs back then compared to today, and life was simpler. However, the 80s was marked by high unemployment and recession. Ronald Reagan fired +11,000 air traffic controllers who went on strike, and replaced them with military controllers.

There weren't as much immigrants, but Turks as Muslims used to be vilified in the media and movies. Marrying African American and obese Caucasian women was the only way to get sharci. The music of that era though was unique, as there were many talents, so you might want to check that. A sample:

^I only used to listen passively, not even knowing the genre, band or musician's name. I learned the name a few weeks ago by searching who was who, what I used to listen to.

Aids ONLY affected homosexuals like u in the 80s. :?

Sheikh---NO---u didn't miss anything. 80s saw NO JOBS! Regan administration began the ground works for capitalism and economy boom that would be enjoyed by Clinton later in the 90s. In my opinion, 90s was the best times. In FACT, as a somali or immigrant, 80s would have been horrible for u. First, u had no somali network that is enjoyed by millions of somalis today, second, jobs for immigrants was even worst.80s saw the end of cold war with Russia, unemployment High, inflations which is no different from what we are going through now or in 09,10, 11 etc etc. Heck, today things are getting cheaper because of the crush and inflation. lol But things are getting better.

Personally, 80s in the USA was better to watch far in the comforts of Africa. Their pop music and high violence was entertaining from the far distance. :stylin:

Aids--however is an interesting mark in that era. That disease irradiated homosexuals and drug users left and right. I get apoplectic orgasm watching documentaries about this subject everytime I am blessed to watch one. LOOOOL>
