ONLF and Ethiopia peace talks

The much anticipated talks to end the decades long conflict has taken a positive turn with the Ethiopians now more willing to engage in talks. The last talks stalled because Ethiopia insisted ONLF accept the Ethiopian constitution to which ONLF ferociously dismissed because this was a precondition and an unacceptable one. The talks will again be hosted in Kenya under the auspices of Kenya, Non-Governmental parties from various groups and several interested states including E.U, A.U countries and the U.S.

The fact that the Ethiopians are eager to continue talks is an indication they don't want the conflict to continue especially with the Horn of Africa becoming less of a playground for them now. Remember ONLF did not make the first move to begin dialogue they have always been open to it in a neutral 3rd party state but Ethiopia was the first to budge on this one.

The talks are scheduled to start later next month.

Brother in time of uncertainty and civilwar people tend go to those they are familiar with (qabiil) for support but when everything stabilises and security returns in the form of governance people especially the Somali people will go back to Somalinimo!

somalis are worse enemy to each other. let them free themselves from hate and tribal mentality first. even if tomorrow given freedom, they wouldnt even know how to rule each other. i am not talking about ogadens only, somalis in the region in geneal.

Everything hyper says is so true Wallahi the only reason why Kenya/Ethiopia Somalis are not like Somalia has everything to do with those countries.

Somalis have a proven record that they can only work with each other if a none Somali sits between them and don't come with what about Garowe and Hargeisa because Puntland is 90% Darood led Majeerteen and Somaliland Isaaq with a Dir combined 75/80% who is willing to play second best. Even then there are days they have a sub clan war almost to the extent of collapse.

Don't get me wrong i admire the ONLF on keeping the regions resources in the ground but they themselves are far from perfect they have been so fragmented that it is no longer even called an Ogaden clan movement but a sub clan within while another subclan of theirs is with Illey fighting them.

Add that with the other none Ogaden clans which don't recognize the region as Ogaden but as Somaligalbeed or Gobolka Soomaalida or even Kilil 5 of Ethiopia and indeed you have got yourself a huge mess same with NFD.

Somalis instead of leaving tribalism behind have become worse than their fathers and grandfathers and you only need to surf nets like these to see it is the truth

BNTH 7 out of 9 regions is pure Ogaden, 3 regions out of 9 is full with resources, oil and gass, 1 region out of 9 is where the shabelle river goes ( Godey ) a place where farming has good oppertunity, Ogaden region has a great chance being an own republic.

Secret this exactly what i'm talking about i say its time for a Europe kind of federation for Somalis of the Horn.

Each major clan becomes a country that means 5 countries Dir Isaaq Darood Hawiye and Digil/Mirifle. Not going to be perfect cos there still going to be that subclan vs subclan but the testosterone level will be much much more down
