Assalamu aleykum,

Does anyone know how i can send or reply to text messages from Somaliland ? Since the recent number changes (063) i cant seem to reply or send a message. Ive tried every single number combination possible. I can receive messages but i cant reply, even if i reply to the exact same number. Hopefully someone can help.

WCS

If you're sending a text from the UK to SL it's 252 63 4XXXXXX
If it's from within SL to another number also within SL it's 063 4XXXXXX

I hope this helps

Somaliland telecom became directly under Mogadishu since the new government was recognized and that's why the changes were made. Remember Telesom is Hormuud, which also owns Gollis Telecom in Puntland. Under the new international recognition, Somalia can now restore its telecom and postal services. Hormuud (Telesom which is a franchisee by mostly HY shareholders) wanted to stay at competitive and relevant with the changes.

Mogadishu always used 2526 (precisely 25261) and Hargeisa used 2522.

Not sure if SomTel made the same changes. I never use their number.

I assume Puntland is 25262, Xamar 25261 and Hargeisa 25263.

Hawdian Telesom has majority Cidagale shareholders, the CEO of Telesom is Abdikarim Iid (Abokar Muuse, Cidagale).

I know few people from Telesom and they personally told me that majority shareholders are HY. My family was going to buy shares in them as well but they closed three months before that. Indeed Abdulkarim Mohamed Iid is a Cidagale. Ninku wa nin furan, he is not biased nor nepotist and he is very forward thinker. His franchisee almost out performs the original business in Mogadishu.
