This threaded is dedicated, as a small token of our gratitude, to the often neglected or at best underappreciated contributions made by the Benadiris to the Somali folk culture. Please, everyone share your favorite reer xamar song and consider it a little thank you note to the all Benadiri great artists who have, through the generations, done so much to enrich and preserve our national hiddo iyo dhaqan. It is the least we can do.

The link below contains the firs of what I hope will be a long list of songs that we share with each other in the course of this thread. This one is called Koobey Koow and is sung by the legendary Aways Qamiis Cabdallah. Hope you enjoy it.
