Last but not least Battlestar Galactica, a few years old but it's akin to blasphemy not to include it in a list of good series to recommend.

Your right. Arabman, watch "Game of Thrones", your should enjoy it. It's about intrigue and politics, it won't contain those other despicable things you listed. It's the only thing I can recommend for you which I think you can bear to watch
