He accomplished a lot in short life. The first Somali to be elected in any office in the US.

Allah u naxariisto. Allaha qabrigiisa u waasiciyo. I never met this guy for the whole years I live in Minneapolis. Samir iyo imaan allah ka siiyo eheladiisa.

The guy had a good ambition and healthy person. All of sudden his time is finished. This life is short as it always was...

Somebody told me the other day the guy was very sick at the hospital for weeks. Now I hear his death.... Allah u naxariisto waqtigiisa soo dhamaaday...

AUN. Such brilliant career and promising career come to an abrupt end. He was a shining star who encouraged a lot of Minneapolis immigrants to start their own business. He also encouraged Somalis to run for state and city elections. He led by example when he become the city's first elected official and he was actually planning to run for the Mayor , but his plans were dashed when he was diagnosed with leukemia early this year. May he rest in peace

I use to read his articles he's seem to care bout his community in mnlps he helped da somali youth in schools 1st somali school board trustee AUN samatar + he comes a tribe know for der hard work,wealth

Wow I never knew the man was sick. AUN.

AUN what type of cancer was it? leukemia (white blood cell cancer), myelodysplastic syndrome (bone marrow cancer), liver cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, cancer that affects the brain, lung cancer, etc????

AUN. Never heard of a Somali who died of Leukemia. Most guys die of Hepatitis.
