Adoption

Post by Mowhawk »

33:5 " "Proclaim their (adopted children) real parentage. That will be more equitable in the sight of Allah. And if you do not know their fathers, then they are your brothers in the faith…"

Do you see yourself adopting one, or some of the many 10,000's of Somali orphans? My Imaam is encouraging that we should adopt these abandoned children and give them a better and decent life.

Mo, are you sure about this???? I once heard a semi illitrate somali sheikh calling adoption haram.

Wahabists would always find a verse or a hadith to enforce their sick philosophy

Cawar, the truth hurts dude. A wahabist tale would go like this:

According to a hadith by abu-someone it was reported that the prophet never mentioned adoption- and if the prophet is silent on something- then it is haram.

[quote="Globetrotter-"] Alla been badana Shocked Even prophet Mohamed may Allah’s peace and blessing is upon him Adapted..

Waxaa ku haysata cuqdad nafsaaniya Alle ha ku daweeyo you are ridiculous 24/7 you have something bad to say about islam ==> Acuzu bellah man Al shytan Al rajeem Arrow Wahhabi this wahhabi that Wahhabin ha ku xirxiraan Oo Quran ha ku saaraan Arrow Ameen dheh

Anyhow in muqadisho there is many orphans without a wali may Allah breaks the baks of the miserable Americas after they have closed the Al-haramin Originations they are over I think the number was between 2000 -6000 children without wali in muqadisho who needs a wali who support them financially, with 10 dollars every month you can feed an orphan, cloth them, give them some place to sleep not only that with that money someone will teach them the Quran, this campaign has been activate a long time and you can get more info insha*Allah if anyone of you are Interested get a hold with Dahab shiil === > I will insha*Allah get you all new info regard it if you need it PPL. The good news is you can take the children with you at once, imagine how much they need a solid parent, I ask Allah that all the orphans world wide are protected from All haram an Evil === > Ameen

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The best house of Muslims is one where an orphan is cared for.”

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have said, "I and the guardian of an orphan will be in Paradise or Jannah like these two fingers and he joined his two fingers." (Reported by al-Bukhari)

In another Hadith he mentioned that "when a person puts his hand of compassion on the head of an orphan, for every hair of that orphan he will receive a blessing from Allah." (Reported by Ahmad)

. Allah says in the Qur'an, "He (Allah) has not made your adopted sons as your sons. Such is only your speech by your mouths. But Allah tells you the truth and He shows you the right way. Call them by the names of their fathers, that is more just in the sight of Allah. But if you do not know their fathers' names, call them your brothers in faith or your friends. There is no blame on you in whatever mistakes you made in this matter, but what counts is the intention of your hearts. Allah is oft-Forgiving and most Merciful." (Al-Ahzab: 4-5)

Mohawk,
I think there are a lot of Somalis who indirectly “adopt/raise” their relatives’ children or support their extended families financially but I personally would love to adopt some Somali kids; I don’t know why we need to produce more children while we have so many in our community who don’t even have food to survive! My family, however, especially my brothers (it may be a male thing, I don’t know?) are not too enthusiastic about it. By listening to their reasons for objecting I have concluded that it is more of an ego issue than anything else. But Inshallah if or when I decide to have a family it’s an option that I will most definitely consider.

Sis Amat ,
I thought you already have good parents? dont worry i am a very open minded sijui Smile Smile to answer your question, i would prefer to adopt first somalis then other muslim kids this is because i feel i will have more in common with them and it would a lot easier for the child too, if they decided to find out where they came from later in life, but i dont know? i was shocked once when i saw a programme on tv about adoptions where this American family adopted a kid from uzbekistan, who was born muslim and even had a muslim name and when they got to Amarica changed his name to Ray or something like that and is obviously going to be raised as christian how sad is that?

Globe

There is no problem adopting orphans in Islam, infact it encourages it.

Basra

You can always adopt me. Wink

Shaheen

I will definately adopt Somali kids. I saw and heard of stories of many unwanted kids in Somalia who were born out of rape, and handed or abandoned infront of orphanages, or in public places. We should support them.
