The New Deal process has been going on for a good couple of Months. The major conference will occur in Brussels soon. This New Deal is a new door for progress for all corners of Somalia.

1. Direct funding towards federal government instutions such as Health, Education, Defence ...no more passing it through NGOs in Nairobi such as UNICEF, WFFP ETC
2. Increase wage for Government troops including consistent payment....no more troops complaining about lack of salary also more troops can be recruited
3. All regions of Somalia will gain economic development
4. Increase trading, import and export between other Nations and Somalia
5. IDP's can be relocated back to their place of home

There are many points. This New Deal process will be much better than the previous Dual-Track policy during TFG era, as importantly the funding will go DIRECTLY to the Somali state but also the status quo is much different now than before.

New Deal has nothing to do with the Somalia-Somaliland talks. It is a economical initiative for Somalia...and yes including the break-away region Somaliland.

There isn`t the institutions or leadership in Somalia to benefit from this "New Deal"
Somalia is a rudderless ship.
It will be like pouring money down a black hole.

PS New Deal is the name of a welfare programme in the UK :?

I`m not into personality politics.
I would much rather see a national unity govt, with every faction, group, region etc included in the decision making process.
Somalia doesn`t need this style of confrontation politics. We need a political consensus.

One thing is for sure....I`m totally opposed to Hassan Sheikh who had the presidency bought for him by shady characters and foreigners.
ASomali president should be selected by the people....not foreign money.

This President & Administration Have Lost The Momentum of International Support, Should Be Interesting To See How Brussels Turns Out.

Pretty Sure It Is Not As Promising As Before.

OD, I stumbled upon your older posts from around the time when Hassan Sheikh was elected. I am not talking about months but days or weeks since his election win. You were against his administration since day one.

I am not convinced of your claim that you are not into clan politics. On the contrary my friend....

Ti......why pull the tribal card?
Don`t you have anything credible to refute my position.

"Your against Hassan Sheikh because of his clan", is getting pretty lame.....especially as the country is going down the tubes.
