the news is not new but what is new is will he really get fired accepts or not accepts? Last time I checked he refused to exchange it with another position.

There are many factors to replace him, besides the insecurity he has no good relations with any maamul goboleed, he doesn't have knowledge except having jamaacaat and market/businessmen relations.

I don't think abdi shakuur will back, however, as a background he is the closest to replace guuleed, he is an ex al islax who joined ala shaykh

yusuf garaad will be great for this post but he has lately sided againist the govt...big mistake...the other reasons are they don't like guys with great knowledge, they don't like to give the chance to the dangerous guys bc in the future they can cause some moza7ama siyasiya for the party...he has also no xer where shakur can be useful for a future plans.

My practical opinion is that a military man or a man with a great secular knowledge is good for this job.

Saacid is finish but it depends on his situation, can he reform? Can he he make a peace? If he can't, some one has to replace him. This is why the reshuffle was postponed. We have to wait until the mid-oct.

Even if saacid goes, he won't be far from his background and now there is no large pressure on the govt since the addis agreement was reached. Saacid only needs to sortout the local things and make peace and he looks lke now pushing for this way but if he fails then...

sahal80 I've been reading your post for months. In the past you've labelled Qatar as a friend of Somalia. This I would strongly question!
I see Qatar as a enemy of the Somali state, If so can you please help explain as to why Qatar is showing covert hostility towards Somalia?

sahal80 I would really appreciate if you could help with this Qatari issue, all my sources are local not international. We need to frame this so that the average Somali Joe can at-least be aware.

Since hassan sheekh was elected qatar pays $1m monthly to help the govts monthly income revenue wich is only $3 million from the port so its new to me how is qatar an enemy of the somali state?

Qatar supports the govt but not enough, they did the same thing with morsi govt...they didn't cover the Emirate and the saudi financial roles in egypt even investing in there to create jobs for the locals because Emirate and saudi have stopped their billions from egypt since he reached the power...qatar has no other non political interests unlike of turkey.

Qatar is behind the govts arm contract with egypt, this was originally announced in the arab summit of doha!

Qatar can sortout your political problems, back you financially in the elections but they won't do any more after the change.

Some of the useful things that qatar has done for this govt is telling eritria to stay away from this govt and eris did it publically but it wasn't wise to make contacts with them as this will hurt ethiopia so now the eris have changed their new position and become againist the govt again!

The Emirate more and kuwait less are worry abit from the govt but the saudis support it fully because the arabs say; britania tokhatit wa imrika tonafid so she knows the uks role in this govt.

On why they are supporting the govt? because the former qatari amir khalifa who is the granfather of the new amir has became an ikhwan on the hands of the egyptian ikhan sholar al qardawi back in the 70s, they are looking for a leadership role(zacaama) so they believe in supporting the international muslim brotherhood movements. of course, in somalia, we are not looking for zacaama caalamiya so let qatar have its role as an international broker.

I wish Xawadian was here because he will clarify that Qatar through its ministry of information aka Al Jazeera is on a war path against the Somali state in a very aggressive clandestine manner.

Nine months ago you reported that Qatar would finance Somalia's National Armed forces, 25, 000 men. I was surprised at this report and found it confusing in regards to Qatar's hostile strategy towards the welfare of the Somali state.

Also when a Qatari envoy visited Mogadishu six months ago, their were reports that they themselves staged the attacks on their own convey so that they could widely publicize through Al-Jazeera that Somalia's wasn't safe for international envoys. Basically they wanted to scare away other envoys from visiting Mogadishu.

I would pin this down to Somalia's oil and gas potential. Qatar lives off exporting liquefied gas, if Somalia were to start exporting gas to Qatar's clients, this could help decrease Qatar's GDP and make the gas market more competitive.

Sorry I was away

Al jazeera is totally different than the qatar national tv or its ministry of information, it doesn't represent the state policy, it represents more the state interests...I can have different interests than you!

Unlike of what most people think, al jazeera is a qanaat khaasira and if your a rich country they would respect your local politics...for example they don't target the gulf states bc their companies are advertising in it and the gulf people are the most useless people who consume more than they need...

Somali al shabaab topics can help the channel commercially however, they don't target the state or support al shabaab like they do in syria, egypt, tunis, libya...they only cover one sides story...in somalia they cover the both sides stories.

Qatar state has donated $18m in the london conference.

As for the oil, I think its the other way...maybe qatar is endorsing some company to make the deal with them like shell wich is their partner-this goes along side with the govts interests- this company with other two companies had also an old oil contracts with the old regime back in the late 80s in wich the new govt is an extansion of it so the govt is not againist them, its the other way if they go back to her as a marjic where ever they are working in then is fine!

There are new westren companies that are scrambling for the somali resources and support the local clan enclaves such as the total of france, the italian ENI, the norway statoil, the china oil corporation who operates in ogaden and wants to expend in other somali regions... The govt has warned all these new international companies and has given the oil rights in the southren part-supposedly under the govts control at this time- to a newly born british company. Thus, norway is building our infrastructures, paying our salaries though their diplomate has lost it for nicholas kay they still acting...

Qatar, UK and its daughter US, turkey have different interests but the same policies to understand the link between all these and the somali ruling elites read this thread

The appointment appears to be true. She seems qualified for the position, FWIW.

Let's hope she does a good job. :geek:
