This might be the easiest way for me to be able to work in Kenya. The work permits seem like a headache.

The East African Community is a potential precursor to the establishment of the East African Federation, a proposed federation of its five members into a single state.
No gracias!
Somalia applied for membership in the EAC, but their application was rejected by the EAC in December 2012

Yeah DGirl I know it got rejected but so did South Sudan. We're just now coming out of a civil war I think it was unrealistic to expect automatic admission. Lakin is it realistic to say in 5yrs Somalia could join the EAC?

About the one state of East Africa I think people used to say that about the EU and then world domination etc. The fear of the unknown.

I believe that we should have high tarriffs, zero non-ethnic immigration, the most temporary work/student visas and very minimal contact with neighboring governments.

South Sudan has been verified, but the thing is, the only country thats doing "okay" is Kenya. The rest are underdeveloped and will continue to be underdeveloped and joining them will not benefit Somalia in the future.

EU is a failed experiment and most Europeans regretted joining the EU.

Almost everyone I know in this current Government I know is against any such idea. It is in our best interest to stay away from EAC as far away as we can. We do not have the right infrastructure and economy currently that is of equal level playing field. Heck even Ethiopia is staying away from it. Plus a Non-Somali can not own Land in Somalia.
