Middle shabele becomes the second fully liberated gobol...

Post by sahal80 »

Banaadir and middle shabeele. Is this due of being the traditional land of the president? Maybe

SNA forces backed by amisom has liberated the district mahadaay and buurane from al shabaab

They are at hiiraan borders and nothing is there except small border villages settled by the hiiraan clans

SNA forces in hiiraan backed by djibouti amisom have reached many times at buulo burde and jalalqsi borders in places like garasyaani, halgan and maxaas and were waiting only this chance because al shabaab were getting supplay from beyond the borders.

"Somalia replaces central bank chief criticised in U.N. report

* Abdusalam Omer held job for 7 months

* Clean management of finances key to recovery

By Edmund Blair

NAIROBI, Sept 19 (Reuters) - Abdusalam Omer has been replaced as Somalia's central bank governor after seven months in the job, he said on Thursday, once again strongly denying graft allegations made by United Nations monitors.

The allegations in a U.N. report linking him to irregularities regarding millions of dollars withdrawn from the bank have also been formally rejected by the Somali government.

The U.N. Monitoring Group on Somalia and Eritrea said in July that Mogadishu's central bank had become a "slush fund" for political leaders and that Omer had played a central role in irregularities surrounding unaccountable disbursements.

Omer, who has labelled the allegations malicious, said he was informed by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Sept. 13 that changes would be made at the bank. He submitted a letter of resignation the same day, he said.

Somalia has been struggling to rebuild its institutions and battered finances after two decades of conflict and chaos. Better management of public finances is seen by donors as vital to secure a recovery, debt relief and budget support.

Speaking in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, Omer told Reuters by phone he was given no reason for the decision.

But he said it "is a possibility" that the government decided to remove him as a result of the report, even though an international probe commissioned by Mogadishu had dismissed its findings.

"My thinking is this: that if you play by the rules and you assemble a team, both diaspora and local people, and try to reform a dormant and important institution called the central bank, I guess you have no place in Somalia," Omer said.

He said he would return to Somalia next week to conduct a handover.

A Somali financial source and Somali media said Omer's replacement was Yussur Abrar. One Somali report said Abrar, who has worked in commercial banking abroad, was the country's first woman governor of the central bank.

Officials could not immediately confirm the new appointment.

In Omer's letter of resignation, obtained by Reuters, the former governor listed his achievements, such as producing the bank's first balance sheet for 22 years.

In the letter, he said he was resigning with "regret and disappointment" and had told staff to ensure a smooth handover.

The Mogadishu government had commissioned FTI Consulting and a U.S. law firm to investigate the U.N. monitoring report findings. FTI's chairman for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region is British peer and former minister Mark Malloch-Brown, once a deputy secretary general of the United Nations.

Somalia's recovery is being hampered by an ongoing Islamist insurgency, deep-seated clan loyalties that continue to govern the way politics and business is conducted and vested interests of powerful politicians."

Lol casanova inaa kaa harey ha moodin I will back to you soon! don't say anything now!

Amalo is my ancestral town we have also founded a town next to johar called jamacat sheek bashir sheekh xanafi, the rest are in yaqbari weene in lower shabeele

Amalo is located 15km south west of baladweyne...not that far. Luuqjeeloow is 30km southwest of baladweyne. Al shabaab borders are halgan 20km north of buloburde and 10km south of garasyaani...pro govt borders ends at garasyani 65km south central of baladwyne. Bulobburde is located 120km south of baladweyne.

Last town that was recaptured is quracjoome a pro-govt town 40km in the northwest of baladweyne, close to tiyeegloow in bakool and mustaxiil in kilinka.

Hardcore maxaas 70km east of baladweyne has been always free but lately they had big time with alshabaab who entering for thift and then running away.

There is a village around it that al shabaab has never landed in their history, its called coomaad. These nomads are hard fighters and no one can enter it.

Sahal, you must admit that it has been a slow year for the Amisom troops, they have been slow in recapturing towns than leaving the towns in there hands for (so called) strategic purposes!

Everyone know Amisom is only there to hold back Somalia from progressing so they can leech of as many money they can get in their Jareer hands!

SFG & SNA need to hasten in recapturing the towns from already weakened Ashabaab!

The change in the army has caused this halt...its a matter of time...old commanders were under pressure besides the new ones having different tactics like building the good soldeir who has good wages not to let them enter a town before these physical needs were secured.

They have a plan called shabeel operation.

Also there tactics are not concentrating in one region and front...their mission is not only againist al shabaab...before you had the ex govt depending on ahlusunna, bala bala, this one has sent 1000 soldiers to galgaduud to help the official administration. There are big armies that are stationed in jazeera and waiting to go some gobol...others will be used through the navy and may land aound jilib when is baraawe recaptured. There are now al shabaab infighings.

In other words, they are more central and care about one order.

Sahal, SFG & SNA must hit Ashabaab where it will hurt the most and that is Baraawe where Godane and his commanders reside!,....I believe sincerely that if they they invade and capture Baraawe that ashabaab will fall.

So Sahal what Is the SFG&SNA waiting for?

The new command has totally different tactics that goes along with the govts policy. The ex govt had unprofessional xer policy wich is totally different than this central govt.

So what your saying is that the government wants all these troops into one control, so that it can attack the ashabaab in Baraawe with a singular joint-troop attack with a central command?

NO.

Hassan sheekh has a 6 pillars policy to control somalia politically, economically, educationally, militaray-wise, resources...not only al shabaab is there...one central order must be established by imposing sanctions until the national stabilization plan wich is one of these 6 pillars takes over.

The army is working according to this policy wich targets every where

Wassalam.
