I remember back home when I was lad one of my relative was in tuberculosis hospital. Visitors were encouraged to bring gifts such as soft drink Vimto to treat anemia...
I think Kambuuli use have to stock bales of vimto in Burco....I remember Advo admitted to have treated anemia with Vimto while suffering severe mosquito bites during his childhood in Kismayo..

The vitamin C in the Vimto enables the body to absorb Iron from the food better, so in a way anaemia da waxbuu ka tarayaa.
Laakiin somalidu wax kasta oo cas waxay u haysataa inuu dhiiga kordhiyo even some them in the m'ii drink animal blood when they feel anaemic

That isn't the only thing. 7up for bad stomach-aches, Vimto for anaemia and Shani for something else. I think Shani was for vitamins or something.
