Humanitarian organization it started in 1984 in the UK. The USA chapter started in 1993.
It's become huge in the last 5 years in the USA. However, the USA chapter seems to be having internal politics issues with their CEO leaving and it's heavily dominated by Arabs and they have some issues there.
Their revenue was like $50 million last year and Islamic Relief Worldwide based in the UK reported the total revenue from all chapters was north of $100 million in 2012.
This year, I heard they're cooking the books i.e. making up numbers cause they aren't getting pledges. Plus, people who donated to help orphans and stuff are mad cause they sent money but when they call to check in on the orphans they sponsored, there's no data about it.

I know a chapter of a different organization in my town monopolizes everything after they had some financial problems that they shouldn't of even had at all to begin with
They have taken over the cemetery business, the community food bank, mental health assistance, and are going as far as taking over the weekend Quran schools. There are things they do that are even a conflict of interest
What I'm trying to say is that Islamic Relief will diversify
I am,

True say.
AbdiJohnson,
I don't know how they diversify. They are reliant on big pledges from masajid, rich people, etc and those aren't really being fully realized.

I am not aware any Islamic relief organisation helping out in Africa or any other emergency situation in the world. British people are known their extraordinary generosity. I remember how they helped 5 million pakistani when floods affected their lives in 2010.

Not surprising, when charities get that big, donations end up paying wages instead of helping the needy. Admin costs

Islamic Relief's former CEO is now the head of a new relief agency called United Muslim Relief aka Muslims Without Borders.
All that Ikhwan money is going there now..

I meant I am not aware islamic relief helping non Muslim e.g. Congo. I have read once Saudi funds have been used to built just mosques in Jad and Niger but not water, health or education.

^ Mosques are the center of society. Education is in the Mosque. Social issues are/should be discussed in the Mosque. Issues can be dealt with in the Mosque such as building clinics etc. Building mosques is the priority the rest will/should come later.
Big charities/big orgs (same thing, their not charities really donations pay their crazy running costs) all cook their books.

They did absolutely next to nothing for Somali during Famine. Maybe the money they were promised didnt reach or maybe it was spent within the organization. Also whats with muslims nations building mosques in poor muslim nations but not water wells or quarantines. I mean we already have plenty of mosque that are empty what makes think this new one will be full? Niyow this begging is useless.

Last year I wanted to send some money to Somalia so I thought maybe an organisation like Islamic relief would be a good and direct way to send donation. I remember specifically ticking the box donation to Somalia on the site. Few days later I received an email saying your money was sent to Libya! WUUUT?
