Waqooyi vs Koonfur (behind the scenes politics)

Post by zingii »

I have came to learn that lately, the Northern Administration also known as Somaliland hase been making alot of noise.
This noise as it seems stems from the change that was made to the old Somali Passport to the newer E-Passport.
This move effected Somaliland administration officials who did not posses double citizenship like the rest who govern that state.
This translated to those officials not being able to travel abroad to conduct business as usual specially since Ethiopia fully backed the new passport.
The Ethiopian government wouldn't accept the old passport as it was made illegal to possess one by the federal government.
The federal government issued the warning that is (individuals caught with it would be considered alshabab).
Apart from the effect this move had on the officials, it also affected the people who settle in that state.
Now they have to chose whether to adopt the new Somali E-Passport or get one from Ethiopia to be able to travel.

I heard that bunch of Maryooles were detained at the Ethiopian border including officials who represented Somaliland administration.
Those with the new Somali E-Passport were let go while those without were refused entry into Ethiopia which included the officials of Northern Somalia (Somaliland).
This infuriated them and had them flood the media with remarks such as "SFG is in cold war with us".

Their end is in range via politics.

My god. I'm glad that this negative action has made your day but you dont understand the northern mindset. We are a dogged people who rise to every challenge be it big or small. Its how your parents lost boli qaran and the milking of the state finances.loool

Tit for Tat is not my style young home boi.
Discuss the topic at hand or bounce outa here mayn.
derailment tactics wont work on this thread.

Question:

What options do Siilaanyo and group have on the table to address this new delima.
The only way out as i see it is to only hire individuals with double citizenships (just like him).
But this would only solve part of the problem and does not address the challenge in its entirety.

How would the people of that corner be able to travel if they dont hold a foreign passport?
Logic says they have no choice but to accept the new Somali E-Passport.
Little by little the Waqoyi administration is being incorporated.

DJIBOUTI — The Republic of Djibouti has began accepting ordinary passports, as well as official and diplomatic passports, granted by Somaliland as official travel documents for trips to its country, according to local sources.

The names of these countries are :

The old Green Passport
Image

Up until recently, this was the passport all Somalis used to travel to (countries that accepted it).
This includes alshabab and co coupled with all those who had forged one.
For security reasons, newer one with a chip has been introduced (hard to forge).

“We broke away from Somalia, we don’t recognize their passport and they don’t recognize ours,” said Waran-ade, adding, “No one can travel with Somali passport, unless the previous one.”
“It’s illegal [producing a Somali Passport inside Somailand] and we will take them to the court.” The minister added.

The best part in the report:
Somalia’s federal government officials were not immediately available to comment.

See the difference ya a7maaq?
They dont recognize Dirland just because they accept their toiletpapers
Last year, Dirland ministers suggested boycotting of pilgrimages in Makkah in a protest to influence Saudi Kingdom to accept the Dirland ToiletPaper

However, many Somaliland residents still have no access to obtain the Passport unless they go to Mogadishu or Garoowe, Puntland.

Halima Jama is 65 years old mother; she missed the chance to obtain a visa to Saudi because of not having the Electronic passport.

“I missed this time, but I am going to travel to Garoowe, to obtain the passport, no one recognizes Somaliland passport.” Halima said.

They even want to threaten Saudi Arabia.

Somaliland has its own passport but it is unrecognized, when traveling residents use the Somali Passport
Sadly not anymore unless they now travel to Garowe to obtain our new passport.
