This looks very dangerous. I hope no oil exploration starts till we have a unified nation with a fair government that will make sure they get a fair deal and profits goes back to nation building and defense. Laakin at the moment it will end up in the pockets of corrupt leaders who will spend it on weapons . I highly doubt faroole or silanyo would get a good deal. They are in no position to even negotiate. Plus oil companies are known to stage coups if their puppy becomes uncooperative.

Right now all it's doing is drill to see if there is oil and when they do find it expect this to happen.

Somaliland: Presidents Silanyo & Sharif Coalesce to Sell Berbera Port

Dubai the operational management of Berbera port in Somaliland has been taken over by the Dubai Ports world-DPW after a secret meeting between the Emirati owned company and the presidents of Somaliland and Somalia in Dubai.

Only this time Mogadishu will get its cut for we are talking about the black gold and not some hardly used port

That has been proofed to be false rumors and Berbera port wasn't transferred to DWP. Mogadishu will never get a inch of it, the only thing they might
get is some few donations to their starving people like in 2011. Berbera revenues entirely goes to Somaliland, what makes you think they would
share a much more important thing such as "black gold". In the event of black gold being found in Somaliland it will be divided between Somaliland
inhabitants and the oil companies since Somaliland is not a federal state but a breakaway state with full sovereignty over its lands, looters in Mogadishu
will not get a cent. Somaliland national resources whether it is the abundance of emeralds or oil is for Somalilanders.

Well i don't know about that. 2nd i suggest you brush up on international laws. Until Somaliland is recognized as an independent country whether you like it will be known as part of Somalia in the UN or any other important organizations.

It doesn't matter what the IC known it as, what matters is who controls the land. Haven't you seen what CEO of Genel Energy said? Mogadishu sent
him numerous cries to stop the operations but he brushed them off. They are more toothless than the Bagdhad government who tried to stop the oil
operations of Genel in Kurdistan region, international laws and other nonsense won't scare away companies like Genel. Somaliland is a sovereign state
who has a jurisdiction of its land.

Good luck

*edited* Iraq’s Kurds plan to start pumping oil to Turkey next month via a pipeline controlled by the central government in Baghdad, signaling an easing of their dispute over resources, according to two people familiar with the plan.

Hawiye, Alshabaab will move all their energy on north somalia. I can guarantee you.
No dir militia is able to defend the oil sites from Hawiye or Alshabaab. :stylin:
The only reason why north somalia is being ignored because we though it was a waste place full khat addicted junkies.
But that is about to change very quickly.

If oil were to ever surface in SL, I'm afraid my support for Xamar will wither away, and I'm start advocating for beesha Qubeys to head back to their ancestral homeland of Shiekh. :Heh:
