I don't know which brands are the best, but not bad choice though. A little bit pricey though, you might get it even more cheaper as christmas gets closer.

I bought that for 500 pounds 2 years ago.

A dslr is too big for normal pictures its a pro cam for pro activities however thats a good priced i'd say buy it.
A point and shoot would be better for most people though.

So this is a good deal huh?

Star. I have had many of the point and shoot and they all seem to either die or get damaged.

I think it is time i got something better than my phone`s camera.

I don’t know much about that model. What I know is Canon sells great cameras. There are so many great different cameras out there and new ones it’s hard to keep up. When I was picking out a camera I asked a photography instructor to help me select one and he directed me to use this website.

http://www.dpreview.com

You should find reviews and comments there.

DPreview was helpful. Discussing it with a local camera store was helpful too.

Yeah its a great camera ive got it with a few lens probably spent near £2k with all my lens and accessories, won't sell it it does everything i need mostly voyeur activities.
With a camera like that i'm sure it'll last a very long time and mine (yours to be) is built like a tank and takes good photos however if i started off again i'd buy a smaller camera because its just too big.
Small good cameras are fuji xpro1 and leicas .

300 dollars is a bargin.
dpreview is one of the best sites shes right. However canon isn't the best anymore, Sony and fujifilm are better value for money and pack a serious punch.
nikon and Canon used to be the kings for the last 80 yrs however there market share is decreasing by the year.

Thanks Serene for the review website. So many options.

Star,The bulkiness of it might be the only thing that deters me from buying it.Going to the store and see them first hand.

for that price i'd buy it again just keep it

however for a lady a dslr is too much a smaller cam is better such as one Panasonic offers very good collection like lx7.
Good idea go feel it if u like it buy it.

Who uses that dinosaur-sized camera in 2013? I think you should get a compact one.
