I Hope Not

Post by guhad122 »

So with Saacid resigning, I keep hearing Dr. Gaas in the lead for the hunt for the position of the primiership position. I have to admit I know little about this dude. And I hope that Culusoow doesn't nominate an OG because since the early days of SPM, I have never seen Absame more united and nominating one of them for that position would mean political wrangling and infightings amongst the sub clans of Ogaadeen. Jubbaland, NFD, DDS, and ONLF are all united on one thing today: bring back the Absame lands.
Here is the Gaas you keep hearing.

For the interest of the Beesha Absame or Kablalax or Daarood for that matter, a Puntland-supported prime minister gets my vote in this critical juncture:up:

OP,
Walaahay I am serious. I don't want Absame prime minister this time. Like any other Somali clan, we can easily be divided by politically savvy politicians. Case in point, the former finance minister Xalane who is Cawlyahan managed to keep two of the biggest Cawlyahan Suldaans and Ugaases in Xamar and use them to oppose the Jubbaland project. Luckily, he lost his position when Saacid came to power.

If the HAg ditched you for Ogaden in Jubaland, don't you think they could ditch you for Ogaden Prime Minister? Marehan need to regroup and change their relationship with HAG. If you get lucky and get another nomination, It has to be a cut-throat pan-darodism one. No a sitting lame duck like Shirdoon

Abti wa runta, I take back my opposition from Madoobe. He has shown strong character, and I don't think he can be divided by Culusow and co.

I hear he is tired of waiting for Xamar and he wants to move forward with Jubbaland's government.

BR, relax, the PM is going to go to Marexaan, but I don't think it matters.

Perfect_Order -it actually matters!!!

If Culusow nominates strong character PM ( I doubt he will) , then the new Prime Minister will have full freedom to appoint his ministers. He will also have the freedom to exercise his constitutional powers and if Culusow try to remove him, then he will be seen as spoiler . Back to square one

How does an MJ PM even matter? Puntland doesn't matter in the govt, they don't have a powerful constituency in Parliament. There is different dynamics than there were in 2011. A PM needs to be backed up by the Parliament, that is where his mandate comes from and that is where it can be taken away from. Without Parliament he doesn't have any legs to stand on. Xassan Sheikh has shown he has the money and the willingness to buy Parliament. Now do you see why it doesn't matter?

Nothing less than a strong Majerten PM who then switches to Faroole will do.

Marehan need to sit their asses down and think about the trajectory they have been on the past year and a half.

I also support Jubbaland under Madoobe as first President. Caano daatay lama soo celin karin. Marehan will most surely get President next round let them totally get behind the current Jubbaland and strengthen it and work with their kin. As long as Kenya is there it's not like there is another option. As long as Mogadishu government has no place to grt in the middle and take advantage of our squabbling. We need to strengthen Jubbaland and Puntland pushing the formation of the Upper House.

Yamyam and qadaadweyn have taken us for a ride since Carta.

Perfect -First of all, I don't wish MJ to get nominated. I just want a south based Darod to take over and defend the interest of Darods in the South.

Secondly, If money matters it would have worked for Shariif Sakiin who was one of the wealthiest and most corrupt politician in Somali history. Culusow is just figure in there and he's actually nothing in the grand scheme of things. The international community have their eyes on him and the next slightest rift between the two top figures in the government will result in the international community blowing the whistle

The IC has a remarkable ability to look the other way when it suits them sxb.

Saakin was in the worst possible position, to get to the President seat, he had to either get Darood or Hawiye to become Speaker. So he had Xassan sheiikh's block, shiekh Shariifs block, the islaah block, the dir block, the Gas block, the darood/Hawiye block. He had no chance no matter how much money he had, he couldn't outspend everyone or buy every vote as some votes couldn't be bought.
