Ethiopia has no interest to pick sides between the warring Somali factions/nations entities it supports them equally except Alshabaab and ONLF. Their diplomacy is one of balancing their relations between Somaliland, Puntland and the SFG of the south and the Jubba admin.


Ethiopia says that it supports Somaliland it even recognizes Somaliland passports it has a consulate in hargeisa it allows a Somaliland diplomatic office in addis ababa. It shows nothing but a friendly gesture towards Somaliland it allows Somalilanders to use addis ababa to make contacts with various western embassies. It even advised Rayaale how to address the African union states in 2007 about SL quest for statehood.
