AMISOM not making any moves

Post by Titanium »

Anyone notice how AMISOM and the condom SNA + government have not taken over any major towns lately? It's been like 6 months they have taken over a village and like 1.5 years they have taken over a large town. There is no more than 5000 Shabab rebels scattered across the south and they are ill equipped. AMISOM is taking their sweet time because they are getting a nice $1500 a month each while the condom SNA soldiers with no proper equipment are following their orders while barely able to feed their families on the $100 they get.

How can anyone support the condoms and prostitutes when they are working on the schedule of AMISOM. They are supposed to help you. Not use you like the condom that you are. They are taking advantage of Somalis.

At this pace, troops will be in Somalia for another 10 years. What makes it worse is that you condoms cheer for AMISOM and the condom government is too busy to notice they are being used due to signing away our resources to multinational organizations everyday

You mean he is an extremist killer ? sure, destroys Alshabab, the enemy of the government. His role is not to preach or teach Islam, but to destroy the enemy of the nation and protect the territorial integrity.

one of the things he tried to implement was to train Somali soldiers inside the country so their orientation was not influenced by 10 different trainers from different nationality, but although he managed to recapture large parts of the country he resigned before he could implement the program and another guy took over, who is very ineffective, that is why nothing is happening now.

AU is playing a political game, they are worried about funding cuts, and an in the works UN mission to take over. So they said F it, we aren't going to do shit.

Besides Somalia is about to become old news, now they are trying to put together an Amisom mission for CAR.

Firstly the amisom mission is a peace keeping mission and this is not the type of operation that somalia needs, its a force for post-conflicts and keeping the peace that was reached

Secondly amisom is an AU experimental mission so if they succeed in somalia they will deploy them in other AU countries and the UN, the west will depend on them in this regard but if they fail in somalia then that is it however the focking ethiopia has joined them now to secure them(8000) also the amisom number will be raised to 24,000

They had short presence in burundi wich needed that kinda of operation

What somalia needs is an offensive operation like the international security assistance in afghanistan aka afghanistan war

Nowadays they are getting reduced and afghanistan has half million soldiers with a budget of billions of dollars, have a military aircrafts

Let alone the SNA, amisom has no military aircrafts however they are giving them now 10 helicopters

Amisom can't move futher until more extra army deployment was done because they "can't cover all these long distances"

The somali govt has asked the UK to help about changing amisom into a UN mission in the security council also about the arms embargo but they come up with nick kays mission till futher integration of missions was done

The UN operation will replace amisom in oct next year, they have already done some explorationary study in the southren provinces.

Big difference!

Amisom is owned by the AU, are currupted and have less professional armies and commanders, have in-put in the somali politics so almiino make the mandate an international to avoid the blacks intervention!

This means having in addan adde airport a new mission military office and the amisom hearquarters will go, the UN operation will have an international commanders from every where including muslims who will work in every city

Countries like turkey, gulf arabs, egypt will join

More then this the somali govt will request to renew an old UN policy that is againist to include such operation the states bordering somalia but it was the al khawana in the focking TFG who requested them, dam jadid is planning to dismantle this policy forever between 2014-15 when you will not see or hear any more of these countries role in somalia!.

In other words, in this way, the govt will be able to take full ccontrol in two years.

I agree with you in this, actually there is a good article for pro abdi samatar on why they should spend on the SNA even half of the EU funds that goes to amisom

Their answer is that there is no such a professional coherent SNA in the first place that can save somalia and fight al shabaab, it needs to establish such army and make a lot of reformations

The EU training mission have been moved to mogadishu and will double their efforts under the italian command

The somali army has three problems, is not professional, former clan melitias, may have jihadist elements within it

In order to weaken the resistance they accepted some groups and ex jihadists in the short-term but in the long run they will clean these elements from the power

The former clan melitias will get reformed, integrated and made a coherent national army unlike of what is happening nowadays in the southren parties where you got SNA forces confronting eachother

They won't let such situation to continue

Having said that the army will get equiped better than before until a total reformation was made.
