Teetotal = To abstain from drinking.

Say what you want but Gandhi is a very pleasant man and a good relative.

I know Gaandhi very well and you can never be more Somali and nationalist than Gaandhi. As Eega posted, he is also a Xaaji.
If you put aside the clan emotions, just take sometime and read about the political history and background of Gaandhi. One good example was how he was one of the very first politicians to oppose the elections of Abdullahi Yusuf. At that time, he was the chair of a group called Somali Diaspora Elders or Intellectuals; something like that. Then after opposing the election of Abdullahi Yusuf, a group of warlords led by Muuse Suudi attacked him in his hotel room and broke his right hand. It was a well known incident. During the Ethiopian occupation, he was one of the top Asmara Group leaders. The Azania project originally came form Muqdisho when Gaandhi was the defense minister but somehow Shariif was led into believing that Gaandhi and Azania project were threat to his administration. I think if Sharif supported Azania, he would have been easily reelected. He was much better than this hard-headed Culusow. At least in Sharif's administration, I could see Somalia in it but Culusow's administration and advisors took clanism to another level

You have to also remember that many Absame folks vehemently opposed Gaandhi for all his inclusive policies and luckily he is one of the forces driving the Jubba project now because inclusiveness is good for all!!

^ Shariif was stupid when he dismissed Gaandi, Ethiopia had a hand in it as-well because Gaandi summoned all former Somali Generals and commanders to help rebuild the Somali army and this didn't go down well with Ethiopia. He was also the one who started the programs to train Somali soldiers abroad. He should have been Jubba Prez or FG PM now but he has been politically assassinated again and again.

Actually I wouldn't want him to hold positions in Jubaland at this time because when we get our voice heard in the national level; meaning when it is our time to get one of the two top seats, I would like to see Gaandhi in there because he can do more for Somalia as a nation.

Maxaa kaa galay?
Allah swt tells prophet pbuh that he is responsible for his own deed, and they are responsible for their own deeds.
If he drinks alcohol and his son cuddles with asian why should that concern you? You wont be asked in the grave about his works.....

Drinking alcohol is better than suicide bombing and FGM and clan wars. I hope Gandi did drink alcohol. It would make him even better. But his secular views and nonqabiilist ways are enough for me to give him a pat on the back

I am,

Abdi "I'd like to meet him" Johnson
