As we all know Somalinet is probably the most visited Somali website. Somalinet is also one of the Somali websites that is very visible on search engines, which means that many non-Somalis come to these forums to get an insight into Somali culture/language/history etc. Instead when these non-Somalis come to Somalinet they see young Somali members engaging in and proliferating in the worst aspects of their culture... namely: qab yaalad... behaviour that is shameful, unproductive and damaging to themselves and to their people and country. These members think their behaviour is just "trolling" but seemingly don't understand that their behaviour has real consequenes and that they are doing a disservice to themselves because their posts/comments and threads directly impact how non-Somalis view and interact with them. It's like a person setting fire to one room in his house and then going to sit in another room of his house pretending everything is ok.

Let's instead use this forum to promote a positive view of our country and its culture, Let's also use this forum in a productive way to promote unity, common interests and danta-guud between Somalis. It is in your best interest. Stop sabotaging yourselves and your own people.
These members I speak of engage in the following kinds of behavour that are damaging to our people, to our country and to our community.
- Posting comments which reek of self-haterism, showing that they view as inferior Somali culture, language, history, heritage
- Promoting of dagaalka bee laha Soomaaliyeed
- Insulting and denigrading dadkooda Soomaaliyeed
- Kala qay binta ummadda Soomaaliyeed & promoting gobbolaysi
- Isku dirka ummadda Soomaaliyeed
- Engagaging in and promoting Qab yaalad in all its vile forms
- Spreading lies, propagande and unproven allegations against Somali politicians
Etc.

The message to them is to is clear: stop and pledge against this kind of behaviour. I want to say that Somalinet's moderators do a good job. However, the fact that this thread is needed is an indictment of Somalinet's moderators who can do much more by controlling the kind of behaviour i have listed above. But on the whole moderators do a good job.
