Sometimes I fear

Post by LightAtNight »

The backwardness I see on Somalinet is a collective reflection of the Somali psyche. The constant and unhealthy levels of mocking of others, the tribalism and just general shallowness. Where will the cure be found for these ills?

Maybe am being too pessimistic am not sure to be honest. I usually dont take a pessimistic take on things, am one of those overly hopeful people...at least I think I am anyway. The thing is I never before use to get involved in Somali issues, I didnt even know about the problems Somalia had, the cause of the civil war or the problems with the regions and the divisions. I only learned about these things later on. After 2006 when Somalia came back into the news and some kind of gov was being born. From that point I started to learn more and more about the somali people and history and I was enthusiastic for a while, I had a sense of Somalism in me that I didnt even think of before. The thought of Somalia being divided bothered me a lot, and the situation Somalia was in also gave me a sense of great frustration.

Anyway as I learned more about Somali people, I visited somalli news sites, read about their stories, watched somali tv, basically I was interested in everything somali. I learned a lot over the years. I learned that Somalis are unusually negative, people who are in capable of seeing the bigger picture in things, extremely difficult to unite. Some their behavior heart breaking. Have very low personal integrity. Some of the things they do and say I have not seen other people do, it can be very heart breaking. Then you ask yourself, how on earth can these people ever be great, produce great work or renown achievements.I don't even think I can happily live in a somali society, I would rather live outside of Somalia till the end of my days, I cannot survive with dishonest Somali society. I also know Somalis a very unpopular people in whatever part of the world they go to, I wonder why

LEUUUULLLLL

Somalis are aight. It's just the ones in Somalia and snet. They're really messed up to the core. The only time Somalia will see peace and unity is probably when the ummah unites insha'Allah it will be soon.

When the Ummah unites?

So you're saying we should wait for 1.4 billion people of various races, cultures, and languages to unite before uniting the Somalis who barely number 15 million?

You come off as two faced when you mention tribalism as i seen you partake in that, but i share your concern in how we stalled because of the tribal problems. But ive maintained that we need to solve somalia's problems peacemeal one-by-one and analyse and dissect at in a somali internal context and not from a global prism.
The good thing is that we have come along way, the problem seemed to have really been lack of government in the south; as there is progress being made by the fg we are witnessing the dawn of a new era.
