Haram to invest?
In companies that produce Marijuana and marijuana related products? I'm about to invest in them, I don't personally see anything wrong with it now that they are legal. What do you guys think?

If it's for medicinal purposes then it would be halal.

You are investing in a medicinal and psychoactive drug, not your fault if anybody abuses it after purchase

It is mostly for recreational use now, and it is legal
It's like investing in a donut company right? It's not my fault if someone eats too much and gets diabietes and dies, right?

That's like saying "drinking is legal so I'll have a sip and invest in budweiser".Perfect_Order wrote:I don't personally see anything wrong with it now that they are legal. What do you guys think?

Invest away. But dont fool yourself into thinking it ain't haram. That goes the same for corps that produce narcotics like methadone and morphine. Cannabis is certainly not comparable to those two, but haram is haram.

Re: Haram to invest?
You just reminded of my friend who used to work at some bar. He served drinks to the customers and I told it's haram working there. And he was like he is just there to make money. So we argued until he had to ask some sheikh. So he was told he is no better than the person drinking the alcohol. He is committing the same sin as the person drinking since the money he was earning came from selling drinks.
So in your case, I guess it's the same. Whether you invested in the company or bought the drug, it's just same. Better invest in something halal.

Alright, what if those companies provide marijuana to medical facilities only

Re: Haram to invest?
Geo, that's a different case than what PO is asking. But I guess that's not haram.

Go to a Masjid, the people above like me, are not fit nor qualified to give you a ruling about this poor venture.
