JVA Days in Kismaayo
I am very impartial when it comes to the affairs of clans in Jubaland state, so this is a straight forward question not taking a stab at one group or another. I ask this specifically because since Jubaland became reality, the mostly Ogaden led project is fast becoming a real economical hub and seem to have a strategic future outlook. Jubaland rebuilt the state house (madaxdooyada) to a reputable standards rivaling Villa Somalia and Garowe/Boosaaso, they have renovated the Airport and beautifully reconstructed/renovated the port. They have done the same with other institutions and are bringing back government centers in the hands of Jubaland. Another important factor that Jubaland is reaching out to is the diaspora to invest, the biggest player in this instance is the Jubaland Chamber of Commerce, a vital link to the Nairobi money machine. This is done in a short period and seems to be going in a spirited pace. My question is how was JVA days compared to this rapid progress, especially in regards to the long reign of that entity?

Re: JVA Days in Kismaayo
I want any Sade member to give me a list of accomplishments by the JVA to what I heard was close to a decade
Re: JVA Days in Kismaayo
Jubbaland state is the work of SADE, AZANIA is the project of ABSAME.
It's amazing how things get lost so quickly with just a name change, and people eat it up.
Anyways you are comparing two things that are not even comparable, JVA is long gone breh
and there's nothing of significance to note thus far of "ahmed madobes" administration aslong
as there's two factions duking it out, foreign forces present, and alshabaab watching from a distance
but what do I know? I'm just a simple nygga.

Re: JVA Days in Kismaayo
Mineral resources, abundant agricultural land, water resources, proximity to Kenyan markets, marine resources, tourism potential, skilled and dynamic population,
hundreds of millions of dollars of investment from diaspora dismayed by the corruption and monopolies which exist in Xamar.
Just a few of the many advantages J/Land/Kismayo has over Xamar.
ps everything will depend on the political settlement...all peoples need to be behind a consensus for any economic benefits come to fruition.
however, all the signs are encouraging.
Advo...are you not optimistic about the nascent state.?

This is little too optimistic but there is a great potential, indeed. Xamar and its vicinity has a robust 2+ million people and growing, and the necessary foundation for further growth and prosperity. That Xamar is the capital and the center of Somalia can be weaken but will never be eliminated. Kismaayo's closest competitor is not Xamar but Hargeysa, and its already got its work cut out. Hargeysa is fast becoming chilling and tourist destination not so much for gaalo, but other Somalis as they seek better climate, schooling, safety, and an Islamic environment. As there are many sides to every city, Hargeysa also has a bustling night life for the young and the wild.original dervish wrote:J/Land/Kismayo will surpass xamar within a decade.

Indeed this is the ultimate challenge and one they need to tackle quickly: reconcialtion, defeating alshabaab from Jubaland, and being independent of foreign forces. Without achieving these goals, there successes might be shorted lived.Advo wrote:Jubbaland state is the work of SADE, AZANIA is the project of ABSAME.

I am only comparing the two administrations. Sade have this obsession about having the same man who ran the city under JVA ruling it again, its only right to see what Barre has done in his tenure. For instance, for close to a decade, why didn't he at least rehabilitate the state house?

These jebertis are hallucinating wlhi.
Kismaayo has population of 100.000 while xamar has +3 million. Kismaayo is literally the size of 1 xaafad in xamar.
Also Kismaayo has the most backward people in Somalia regardless of their clan. I mean the town got it first motor well and water pipes installed since the creation of the town couple months ago. Forget about the health system. You don't want to see the situation over there. Very sad place.
