I blame the parents. I can bet you her husband told the wife not to go to the doctor to treat her mental illness. Coming out with your mental illness to Somalis, Arabs, Pakis, others is worse than murder. Youll be ostrasized and told you have evil spirits in you. Children's aid is following the law and science, something alien to Somalis

I think there's more to the story than mental illness. I think they were planning FGM and someone snitched them out and the govt aint taking a chance in giving the child to their friends and relatives.
So outrage when lesbians come into the picture but no outrage from the family that a mentally ill woman that could have harmed the child was left untreated?

@Johnson, you basically leveled all the blame on the child's parents and blood relations based on pure assumption. Self-criticism when it comes to our societal shortcomings might be a healthy approach resolving issue but you take it too far.

The government doesn't take your kids away for fun. Not even drunkards get their kids taken away most of the time. This is obviously something serious and mental illness is serious. It obviously took time for the govt to find out about her condition. She had the time to be medically examined. It's not an assumption. I won't listen to you side with this family that obviously didn't care about the welfare of their child
How is it twisted? Little girl will be safe with those lesbians as much as youd hate to admit it. Her safety was questioned with her birth parents. Somalis arent rational. You'd probably side with your clan even if they committed mass murder just for jokes. This is why I don't take you people seriously. Why am I not surprised at this? I constantly see Somali parents unable to control their kids, letting them run riot and scream like they're possessed...only for the parent to passively tell them to be quiet before proceeding to ignoring them again.
The kids are only taking after the loud nature and poor manners of Somalis.
AbdiJ is truly a sick individual, how can you see it as OK for a muslim child to be given to filthy lesbians? If you was as enlightened as you claim to be you wouldn't support this and admit that the foster choice was ridiculous.

Even if the parents were negligent or mentally unstable, the lesbians themselves are mentally ill so it's a twisted irony. The young lass's privates will most likely be ravaged by a cylindrical gadget before she reaches puberty. Homosexuality is a deviant choice and the adopted child will be indoctrinated into lesbianism. This is abuse, a human rights violation

Good news & bad news folks.
Good news first.
The adoption has been put on hold after the protests by the Somali community.
Bad news.
It's official folks, niman ma haysanno. Two other children of this same woman were taken into state care.

They must present, respectable people with jobs and room who can talk the talk, dadkaan wax usuurodo eey rabaan, not couple of habro oo yoda heeysato. Ask what they mean by suitable them give them that.
This is heart breaking because the mother did not harm the children but is ill, what hope will she have to get better for?

To be able to adopt or foster you have to have a spare bedroom. I think that's why councilka u diiday iney Somalida gabadhan yar korsadaan since they all have lots of kids and usually live in crowded accomodation.

Its not an easy process, kastuumada xitaa wey gadinayaan. Is your house clean, do you buy gd food, are your children behaved, do they pull to many sicky at school. They will ask, would you give the mother contact and they will go haa waa hoyadeed
Thee are decent Somali am just not if they are willing to take the girl. People prepare years to adopt, reading books and attending courses on how to be successful.
