In a voice recorded and posted online on Friday night, Al Shabab’s spokesman Ali Mohamud Rage [known as Ali Dhere] said that the friday’s attack was a high profile one and was aimed to capture President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud alive or dead.
“Unfortunately the apostates [government forces backed by AMISOM] defended him in any means they could.” Ali Dhere added.
The attack has killed at least 15 people including two senior government officials and 10 militants during the fierce gunfire inside the Villa Somalia.
